Wanda Re Rose Mroz, 90, of Wichita, Kan., passed away August 28, 2008. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church, 416 W. 12th Street, Kansas City, Mo., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Graveside services and interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Fort Leavenworth Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church, Highway 5, Laurie, MO 65038. Wanda was born at home in Rockbridge, Mo., on Nov. 17, 1917, to Ray Brown and Alta Elizabeth Price Brown. As a young girl her family moved to Tarkio, Mo., where she attended school to the eighth grade in a one room school house. She later married John Vincent Mroz on May 23, 1942. Wanda was an award winning Avon representative in Kansas City for many years. She also was a devout Catholic convert and a longtime member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for 40 years. Wanda's passion was her family, so she strove to teach each one of her family members how important family is. Wanda was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Elizabeth; her husband; her parents and brothers, Alvie, Lawrence, Loren; and sister, Syble. She is survived by her son, J. Stephen Mroz and wife Janine of Maryland Heights, Mo.; daughters, Patricia A. Rogers and husband James of Houston, Texas, and Mary Kay "Katie" Mroz and husband Jack Murphy of Wichita; grandchildren, Heather Lynn Karimi and husband Stan of Broomfield, Colo., Jamie Stephen Rogers of Houston, Emily Brooke Mroz of Duluth, Ga., Robert John Murphy and wife Christina of Kansas City, Kan., Megan Lynn Murphy of Wichita; great grandchildren, Lleyton Rogers and Madelynn Rose Karimi of Broomfield; sister, Allie Redfern of Tarkio; brother, Lloyd R. Brown and wife Patricia of Cottonwood, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Edwyna Brown of Tarkio; and a multitude of much loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Dear Patti, Steve and Katie:
It's been many years since we have been in touch, but your mother was a joy to know. She and my mother, Bobbie Rose, spent a lot of fun years in PTA working on the many school projects at Cathedral. Wanda was my first Avon Lady and to this day I can't get ready in the morning without my Rich Moisture Cream. She turned me on to it and that was more than 50 years ago. I always enjoyed when she visited the house, she was a great lady. You were truly blessed...

Steve, Patti, & Katie and family...Just wanted you all to know I am thinking of you at this time. I am so sorry to hear about Wanda..She too was a special person in my life. Sorry I didn't keep in touch with her more..I thought so much of her you know. Patti..I cherish the day you gave me a call when Sheri passed away and can't tell you how much it meant to hear your voice...Still having a difficult time with it but the days still go on as will they now that your mom is gone. I for one...
