Wanda was an original teacher at the Newaygo County Area Vocational Center (now Career-Tech Center) when the Center opened in the fall of 1972. She taught Food Service, now called Culinary Arts. For the first several years, the Food Service program operated at the Newaygo County Fairgrounds in Fremont and did so until about 1977, when the program was brought to the Center in a building expansion project, along with several other programs.
