Wannis Richard Bowen

Wannis Richard Bowen, age 90, of Frostproof, Florida, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024.  He was born November 4, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio to James B. and Ollie M. (Spears) Bowen.  Wannis was the Principal at Frostproof High School, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church, and has been a resident of Frostproof, Florida since 1985, coming from Winter Haven, Florida.  He is survived by his Wife – Pat Bowen of Frostproof, FL; Daughters – Laura Bowen Coffelt (John) of Lookout, WV; Patsy Britt Jennings (Robert) of Avon Park, FL; Daughter-in-law – Pam Bowen of WV; Sons – David Hinze; Blaine Gulino (Vicky) of NV; Quincy Britt (Trish) of Willis, TX; Sister – Joan Morley of Avon Park, FL; Brother – Ronald Bowen; and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.  Wannis was preceded in death by his Parents and Son – Wannis Richard Bowen, II.  Funeral services will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 at 12 Noon with family receiving friends beginning at 11:00 AM at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church.  Interment will be in Silver Hill Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Christian Academy, c/o Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church, 2600 N. Highlands Blvd. Avon Park, FL  33825.
