Not sure what to say?

I just found out about Ward's passing. He was a part of my life since I was very young and riding my bike up to Eastgate. He was a noble and loving man. He filled my families prescriptions for years. Ever since I was 2 years old that was where we went whenever we needed medications or anything little we could get rather than going to the grocery store. My family will miss him very much when he sold Eastgate we were very sad. May God be with the whole family.

Loving wishes and...

Ward was a great friend to many. I was lucky to know him.
Smart, strong, patient, and wicked funny. Ward was much loved !
See you Again Ward when I get there.
Richard Olmsted

Mr. Ward Duyser was a very remarkable MAN, my prayers are with the family I will miss him dearly. Wendy Freeman

Again, I write on behalf of my Grandfather Ward. He was so proud of my mother and always made sure she was doing well. They talked, laughed, cried, conspired and always talked of "someday." The pictures the last day of his life and the proof of my heritage are the most precious gifts to my mom and myself. She is still grieving his loss as am I.

To the family of Ward,I was a customer of Wards and he cared about everyone.Times I did not have money for my medicine and he would give it to me on credit and that meant a lot to me. I just found out about his passing and I am at a lost but my prayers goes out to the family and I pray that God will give you all strength during your time of sorrow.

Dear Sue and family,

His place in heaven is assured!

May God bless you and your family during these trying times.

With love,

Betty Drinan

(Sue, at your request, here is a follow-up letter!)

Sue, Alyse, Todd, Brenda, Sean, and Ryer : Thank you for a wonderful afternoon of catching up. Your warmth and generosity in welcoming my family and me into your home earlier today will never be forgotten! It was an incredible visit and I will cherish the memory of it for as long as I live.
Thank you for sharing a recap of Wards final journey and re-affirming what I already knew about the man: in spite of the cards...

Ward was one of the most remarkable men that I have ever known and he will be greatly missed. I have quoted Ward many times over the years, ("I have a friend up on the hill in Ada, and he says....") While this news is definately sad, the truth is that it could have come at any time in the past 30 years. Wards life is one of the most inspirational stories I know. Sue, I give you so much credit and respect for the sacrifices that you have made and the life that you and Ward shared together,...

To the family of Ward: Though I had not seen Ward for many years, I often thought of the man that was so helpful to my parents for so many years when we lived a short distance away from Eastgate Pharmacy. When my father was quite ill and my mom couldn't leave him, Ward made sure they got their medications. And when my husband died so young in 1977, and my 5 year old was so distraught, Ward was there to give us helpful suggestions to help her through that first night. He was so thoughful and...
