Besides my Father, also WWII vet, Stumpy has been my most unforgettable character these last 60 years. His example, patience, devotion, patriotism and committment to teaching young men have been with me as an example of "a life well lived" and how to live one. Lt. Watson was obviously a hero and inspiration. I didn't know him but I read his obituary with admiration for a life well lived and a legacy that will live long after him. I appreciate his service to our country and the sacrifices of his family while he served. My condolences to his family.
