ALEXANDER JR., WARREN J. 32 - of Erma, Lower Twp, beloved son of Warren and Merna Alexander passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 22, 2009. Warren, born on February 7, 1977, was a lifelong resident of Lower Township where he attended school and was involved in community sports. He graduated High School from Fork Union Military Academy, Fork Union, Virginia in 1995 where he was also honored by The Village Nursing Center for his years of volunteer service with the elderly. As a young adult, he became a dedicated member of the West Cape May Volunteer Fire Department where he was known as, "Humpty". His passion for the department and his fellow firefighters remained throughout his life. On July 20, 2000, he became the proud, loving father of Warren Joseph Alexander, III, who was diagnosed in 2002 with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), and died earlier this year. Through his son's illness, he became involved with the Stennis Foundation and it's research efforts to find a cure. He turned his love of riding his Harley, and together with close friends, created the Cheezy Riders Motorcycle Club whose sole mission is to raise awareness and funds to support the Stennis Foundation. He lived and breathed for the Cheezy Riders who knew him as their leader, "Head Cheeze". His respect for other motorcycle clubs was without end and he enjoyed being involved in their activities and causes. He often referred to riding his Harley as the closest thing to flying. Warren was employed at Atlantic Shellfish, Inc, a commercial scalloping company out of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Being born into a commercial fishing family, Warren always loved being near the water, working on the boats, and the close relationships he developed with the many boat Captains and crews. Warren appreciated the support he received from the commercial fishing industry to help him in his fundraising efforts. Warren was a man of great stature with an enormous heart and a zest for life which overflowed into everyone around him. With his sense of humor he could have been a stand up comedian but it never overshadowed his sensitive side. Warren will be forever loved, missed, and carried in our hearts today, tomorrow, and always. Warren was to be married to the love of his life, Jamie Parker of Cape May, September 25, 2009. He is also survived by his mother, Merna Alexander of Erma; father, Warren (Andrea) Alexander of Swansea, Massachusetts; two sisters-Karen (Martin) Smith of Mount Laurel, and Stacy Alexander of Cape May; nephews-Collin and James; niece Nadia; grandfather, John N. Alexander of Erma; many aunts, uncles, cousins; his godmother, Janet Perry of Villas; godfather, Tony Coppa of Cape May; and The Cheezy Riders. He is pre-deceased by his grandmothers Mary Twombly and Kathleen Alexander and his son, Warren Joseph Alexander, III. Warren is in the arms of the angels with his beloved son. Funeral Services will be led by Pastor Sam Mountain on Friday, May 29th, 2009 at 1pm in the First Assembly of God Church, 1068 Seashore Road, Cape May. Relatives and friends may visit at the Church on Friday from 10am to 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to: The Stennis Foundation, P.O. Box 30065, Amarillo, Texas 79120. Not sure what to say?

I walk through cemetarys wherever we go camping. The graves of Warren Jr and the III have drawn me every year. I come to say hi to Warren and his son every year and have always wondered about them. I finally looked them up this year so now I have a face to put to a man. Please know that you all have my deepest sympathy and that someone else comes once a year to visit them both. Best regards to everyone.

Being overseas, I missed this event and for that I'm really saddened. I didn't know Warren nearly as well as anyone else here but I knew him fairly well. I will miss him very much and my heart goes to his closest family and friends and the Cheezy Riders. Keep riding for him and MLD, guys.

Warren, you will be missed. After attending school with you at LCMR and ACCC, I knew that your heart was as equally big as the man it embodied. Rest easily with your son. My regards my friend.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. Our deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

Warren and Merna,

You may not remember us. We lived on the canal. Rachel was good friends with Warren your son.
I feel your hurt as I lost my son Jesse 7 years ago at 22. I wish I could take away the pain you feel. But, know he was a specially cool kid. One you could be proud of. Please know my prayers are with you and I have spoken with my son Jesse to say hello to Warren and let him know that we will all see each other in time.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Merna, Karen, Stacy and Pamie know that you are in my hearts and prayers at this most difficult time..I met Warren quite a few years ago and found him to be a person that truly respected others and cared about his fellowman. I wish I had gotten to know him better..my deepest Sympathy to you all.

Only thirteen short years ago I met a young boy who wanted to become a Firefighter. As i sat in the "rec" room at the firehouse listening and watching Warren chat with us all, I knew then that he would be an asset to the department. Over the years I have some of the best memories of this gentle gaint. But my(&some firefighters) most favorite memory of all is Warren in a Santa suit. I have never laughed so hard in my life. No matter what you asked him to do or help you he was...
