Warren Phillip Evans My eternal sweetheart of only 25 years "slipped the surly bonds of earth" to "touch the face of God." Sure Love Ya, Babe. Warren P. Evans, 55, passed away on July 31, 2010 doing what he loved. He was born April 4, 1955 in Houston, TX to James Frank and Marcelene Beard Evans. He married Elizabeth Jackson; later divorced. He married Peggy Lee Mohler Sept 8, 1984; later solemnized in the Manti Temple in 1992. Warren was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He was a High Priest in the Wasatch Ward, Weber Stake. He served in Young Mens' Organization, was a Scout Leader, Ward/Branch Chorister, Branch Clerk and Gospel Doctrine Teacher, the calling he found greatest pleasure. He served 7 years as a trumpet player with the Mormon Youth Chorus and Symphony. He served in the United States Air Force from 1979 to 1999, stationed at Fairchild AFB, and a member of the 388th Tactical Fighter Wing and the 419th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base. At the time of his death he was working as an electronics technician for Hill Air Force Base. He had numerous hobbies, including hunting and fishing, cycling, back packing, photography, go kart racing, camping, skiing, model airplanes, trumpets, guns, and his greatest love, soaring. He was a member of the Utah Soaring Association, was an award winning photographer; and a volunteer for the 2002 Winter Olympics. He played trumpet with the Salt City Brass. He played his last concert in the Salt Lake Tabernacle at a Mormon Youth Chorus and Symphony over the past Father's Day weekend. Warren had a great love for children and loved playing with his grandchildren. He his survived by his wife Peggy; children Jennie (Danny) Fry, Krystal (Derek) Hughes, Blaine (Erin) Whittle, Joshua (Debbie) Evans, Tobi (Joel) Wilkinson, Brittany Evans and Sarah (Pat) Stark; parents Frank and Marcelene Evans; 17 grandchildren; twin brother, Wayne Frank (Kathy) Evans and sister Jodi (Alan) Gabriel. The family wishes to thank Morgan County Search and Rescue and Elk Mountain Soaring for their dedicated efforts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
