He was a hero in the small town of Saugatuck, MI, precisely because he did not believe himself to be one. He was a friend to everyone, always ready with a smile and a wave. I will remember him fondly.

Pam and Family - So sorry to see the passing of your father. Coleen and I were so lucky to have met your father and mother soon after we moved to Naples. To be able to know and work for them and yourself was such a great pleasure. I know both your parents brought great times to so many people. They lived their lives to the fullest. Dear Family and Friends: I came to Kalamazoo in 1962 and Stub took me to lunch at the Harris Hotel. Back then he was usually smoking his corncob pipe and later I would see him often in Saugatuck sitting outside the store watching the people and as usual smoking his pipe.
