Warren Mitchell

Sad to learn that Warren Mitchell has passed away. I met Warren in the late seventies at the Urban Indian Council of Portland (UIC) as part of his work with Minority Lending at First Interstate Bank of Oregon. Always an honest and practical financial advisor. Later, in his photography and postcard days, he continued to impress with his fine artistic sense. Warren, you were a fine man! You made lots of things better. May you rest in peace.

I took a photography course where he was an instructor. His enthusiasm was just infectious. He taught me to see the beauty in ordinary things, including rust, which eventually opened a myriad of creative possibilities. I will miss him.

Warren was a great teacher, excellent guide, and a deeply kind man. Memories of him are a blessing.
