I had the opportunity to meet Doug through the San Joaquin Engineers Council. I enjoyed listening to his stories during our SJEC meetings. I am honored to share the SJEC Distinguished Service Award with him. He was a man that we all look up to. He accomplished a lot during his life. Makes me sad that such a wonderful role model is gone. He was a man of integrity, kindness, intelligence..... but most of all saw people like me (a woman engineer) as his equal. I will miss our chats.
