Warren Wallace Samuelson, 86, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at United Living Center in Brookings, SD. Warren was born on February 6, 1931 in Conde, SD to Warren W. Stanhope and Ethel (Muncy) Stanhope. Warren lived in Conde, SD for 25 years and was one of four children in his family. After high school Warren moved to Pierre, SD for five years where he met the love of this life, Nancy Frazier.
Nancy and Warren were married on December 23, 1961 in Pierre, SD. Shortly after marriage they moved to Gregory, SD where they lived for over 54 years. During that time they were blessed with six children. Warren worked for the United States Postal Service for 28 years as a mail carrier. Before his service to the Post Office he enjoyed working in the automotive industry. Warren was known for his mild and gentle disposition. He enjoyed being with family and friends playing games and cards together. Warren had a great love for his God Jehovah and sharing in the ministry. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 5, 1957. Warren also served as an Elder in the Gregory Congregation helping with various responsibilities.
After retirement Warren continued to work, he was a jack of all trades. He loved to find jobs painting, mowing yards, landscaping, and odd jobs to help others. He loved to find things to keep him busy.
The family of Warren would like to thank the United Living Center in Brookings for their exceptional care and love of Warren these past two years.
Warren is survived by his wife Nancy, six children, Monte (Renae) Samuelson of Norfolk, NE, Shane (Darla) Samuelson of Visalia, CA, Beth (Bruce) Willcock of Brookings, SD, Lane (Brooke) Samuelson of Hager City, WI, Damon (Lisa) Samuelson, Anchorage, AK, Dustin (Emily) Samuelson of Sioux Falls, SD; brother William (Angie) Samuelson of Patterson, NY, sister, Dorothy (Don) Lux of Sioux Falls, SD as well as 9 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Brookings, SD at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. A luncheon will take place after the service. Family will be present starting at 11:30 am to greet guests prior to the service.
