I knew the Vern Badgley family when they lived in Creston. They were family friends with my parents, the Fred Mangis family. My sister Ethel was friends with Betty. Dale and I were friends too. I think the Badgley family moved to Davenport when I was about 6 or 7 years. Wayne was probably 2 to 3 years old then. I worked with Wayne back when I got out of high school. I raked roads with my best friend, Ricki Heitman, and Gene Anderson, who I was lucky enough that the two of us became friends. I'm not sure what he thought of us at first, but I think that he at least found some entertainment value in our escapades!!We all got to know him and come to love him!
