Dear Bates Family, I am saddened to learn of Wayne's passing. He was one of my first students at White Oak and was also a friend as were all of the family members. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Melissa Mason

I love the first line of Wayne's obit! It was perfect! I am so very sorry for your loss. Wayne will be greatly missed by many and forever remembered. I am a former co-worker of Wayne (1990-2001).

I work for Alverson Refrigeration and although I have never met Wayne in person, every time I needed a part number or a price, I always hoped Wayne would answer the phone, because he was so knowledgeable and very kind and helpful, he will be greatly missed by not only his co-workers, family and friends, but also by strangers that he never met but talked to on the phone. I pray that God will comfort his family through their loss, he was one of the good guys.
