Not sure what to say?

Dear Berfield Family,
Coach Wayne was a special man whose good humor, strong character, and patience brought out the best in us. I always thought myself playing some other position than o-line but that meant leaving the fellowship we had under Wayne's guidance---no way. My best thoughts and prayers are with you all ad you as celebrate his legacy and entrust him to God. Thank you first sharing him with us.

Warmly, Andy Armstrong

Rest in peace coach. He was a tremendously positive influence on and off the field. Deepest condolences to the family.

Condolences to the Berfield family. Coach Berfield was one of my favorite coaches (offensive line) when I played JC football 1971 &1972. He also made gym class enjoyable as a teacher for swim class. I believe Wayne was a positive influence in my youth development at JCHS. He was always respected by his peers and students and it was a pleasure to know him.

Tyler & Abby,
Your grandfather was my swim coach at West Middle School in the 60's. I then taught at JCHS with him for a year. He was a great teacher, one of the best. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very sad time.
Love,
Aunt Mary & Uncle Tim

Brad and Family: Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

The Bednarczyk Family

To the Berfield Family : Coach Berfield was a big part of my football family. He treated all with respect and pushed us to give our best. I can still hear Coach Gottfied yelling "Wayne, Wayne,Wayne" when something didn't go right at practice. He was truly part of the JC Football Legacy that I will always carry with me. My thoughts and prayers go out to you at this most difficult time. From a former right tackle known as "WOZ"

Visiting in Williamsport

Aunt June and family, we are so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Wayne. We have many fond memories of times spent visiting with him and Aunt June in Williamsport. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Gina and Mark

In Memory of a beloved brother. I will love and miss you all of my life!

To the Berfield family
So sorry for your loss. Mr Berfield was a like a 2nd father to me for 15 years of my life. I have many memories of the holidays and everyday at the Berfield house on oakdale road. Many great talks about his days playing for Penn State and his record still stands today at PSU. He's now in Heaven with his pals Mr Gottfried and Wheaties! Honored to have known him.
