Very sad to just discover this news!!
RIP buddy, you were definitely one of the good guys.
Your high school friend, Ron Burke

Have just found this photo taken in Vancouver, summer 1977.

I have recently been informed of the passing of my old friend. My deepest sympathies to all of Wayne's loved ones. To Kirsten, Misha and Jesse, I would love to share with you the many adventures that I shared with your dad. I hope that we can make that happen. Wayne will always be in my heart.

Wayne, 1965

Hello All,
Just a note and a photo. We found this picture in our photo albums. My dad, the family historian, kept meticulous albums and bless him he had one of Wayne and me in our teens. I have cropped out myself. The location is 105 (now 395) Claude Avenue, Dorval, QC. where we grew up together, played football and hockey and explored the boundaries of craziness and friendship as described above.
Thinking of you everyday, Kirsten, Misha and Jesse.
Once again,
Mike Nicholson

It's been some time since I last had a really big conversation with Wayne, but our long talks into the night are one of the things I missed most about him. He had a brilliance for storytelling, drawn from a genuine interest in people...and an artist's eye, a poet's imagination, and a wicked sense of humour, all propelling his boundless enthusiasm for life. Let's do it! he would say.

It is so sad and hard to believe that this could happen to him. My condolences to Kirsten, Misha, Jesse,...

Thinking of you all, Mike

Dear Kirsten, Misha and Jesse,

Wayne, your Dad, put in place some soul foundation in my life. What is 'soul foundation'? A term I made up I think. An idea that has permeated my thinking and my 'way' of life for the past 50 years or so. There have been many 'soul' builders in my life. Wayne was one of the first. It was not something I was aware of at age 14, or 15 or 32, but more on this later.

Your father Wayne was one of my best friends from age 12 to...

I worked with Wayne in the 80's and 90's at VCC. I adored his irreverent attitude, his quick wit, and his ability to convey a complex thought in a three word sentence. He was creative and unique and full of life. One thing for sure...He enjoyed his life and everyone knew...He loved his kids! My sympathies go out to them now.

I grew up in Dorval so I may have known Wayne. My condolences to his family & friends.
