Not sure what to say?

Marilyn and family, please accept my belated condolences on the passing of Rev. DeYoung. I just ran across this in an email, and was shocked and saddened to see the news. I have thought of The Rev often as he had such an impact on me at WCS through the track program and Bible class. His expectations were high, but he certainly prepared us to meet them and to be successful. I know many of the lessons from the classroom and the track have prepared me for life in general. While he will be...

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Rev. De Young. I had a lot of fun with "The Rev" in class as well as running on the track team at WCS. He was a great guy with a big heart who loved what he did as well as all of his students. He will be greatly missed.

Marilyn and Family. I saw on the LWCS website that Wayne had passed. I remember very fondly of our shared time in Lake Worth. Wayne was a passionate teacher, coach, and father. Please accept our condolences.

To Marilyn and family,
I was just informed of Wayne's departure this morning. I was asked if I remembered Wayne! How could I ever forget such a great person, coach, teacher, and mentor! I thoroughly enjoyed my couple of years coaching track with Wayne at WCS in Miami. We had some great moments and stories that have stayed with me all the years since.
My heart goes out to you in the loss of such an impact person. I see you are in Byron Center- I did not know this. I have been there...

Dear Marilyn and Family:

I heard through my sister-in-law, Lois, who works at Dordt College about Wayne's passing. We were so glad to have been to see you a couple of years ago for coffee.

We bought a house and have moved back to Orange City. My aging mother needs some help here and Brenna and Mark moved to CA. How quickly things change. As we get older we felt it was important to be near family.

As you look to the future, Marilyn, may you feel the Lord's...

To family and friends of the Rev.
I was very sad to hear the news of Wayne. For four years I had the privilege to run with Rev in Cross Country and Track. His dedication to the team was special. Before every race, every member of the team knew who they had to beat and what time to shoot for in the race. He had us work so hard during the week that the race was like taking a vacation. Rev was a humble man so Im going to do some bragging for him. In 1972 his cross country team recorded...

Dear Marilyn and Family,

I was truly saddened to hear of "Rev's" passing. Please accept my sincere condolences.

No one from my years at WCS left a lasting impression on me like "Rev" DeYoung. All of us who ran track with him will always remember what it meant to work hard, be humble in victory and be graceful in defeat. He taught us that one can accomplish anything if he/she works hard enough and takes pride in themselves. He also taught us invaluable lessons about...

"Rev" as he was known by the WCS State Championship track team was one of the most admired men on campus.

I'm honored to have known him and to have shared the wonderful experience of witnessing a world record and winning a State Championship at the same meet.

He was an inspiration both as a coach and a man. I admired and loved him at a time in my life when I truly needed him!

The funny thing was, he was the fastest person on the team!

Love and...

Marilyn and family:

Please accept the thoughts and prayers of the Crompton family at this difficult time.

"Rev" was truly an inspiration and character-builder for an entire generation of cross-country/track athletes at Westminster. My first life lessons in hard work, determination, and integrity were forged under his tutelage. When practices were most difficult, when my energy was almost completely gone, when leadership was needed -- Rev was there running right next to...
