Dear Nancy, Steve and the entire Wayne E. Dorman family:
My wife Josie and I were incredibly saddened this morning when we read in the Washington Post of Wayne's passing.
I had the distinct pleasure of working with Wayne for many wonderful years with the American Cancer Society's District of Columbia Division. He was truly an exemplary ACS volunteer leader.
His volunteers skills were second to none. He was a remarkable fund raiser and volunteer recruiter by the first order.
He served the American Cancer Society in many numerous leadership positions, including among others: Chairman of our Annual Crusade (fund raising committee); member of the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee; and Chairman of the Nominating and Program Evaluation Committees and Vice President of the Division.
He served with great distinction as President of the Division, and it's no wonder that, after all of his many years of dedicated service, he was awarded the St. George Medal and Citation, the highest national volunteer award that can be bestowed upon any ACS volunteer.
And, during those wonderful years, his beloved wife Nancy was also volunteering her time and talents in many volunteer leadership capacities as well.
Please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of a great man who gave so much of himself so that others could benefit.
In this most difficult time, our prayers are with you and yours. Included in our prayers is that you
may find some solace with the fond memories you will always have of Wayne.
Again, with our sincerest sympathy,
Sanford C.(Sandy) Milwit, ACS, DC Div., Exec. VP (ret) & Josie
