Wayne was well liked among those who got to know him and My late husband always talked kindly and respectful of him even in telling old tales. My condolences to everyone who will miss him and may god grant you some comfort in your grief.

I am so sorry to hear about Wayne's death. He loved to hunt and, years ago, accompanied me to a Greenwood County, S.C., shooting preserve where we shot pheasants. I did a story about the preserve in The Augusta Chronicle. He may have been along with his brother, Pat, Sid Newton and I when we shot birds at Admiral Hawes' shooting preserve near Thomson, Ga.
