Wayne Felder was born January 18, 1921 to Herman and Caroline (Kaiser) Felder in Dubuque, Iowa. The family moved to Everett, Washington when Wayne was a very young.
He graduated from Everett High School and attended Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. He wasn’t able to finish his degree as he was drafted into the Army in WWII.
Wayne married Beverly Marsland in 1942. They had a son, John. Beverly preceded them in death. In 1974 Wayne married Adeline Dumolt Colby who also preceded him in death. Wayne married Cathy Yelton in October 1978; they have lived a full and active life together, serving in various organizations in the greater Portland area.
Wayne served his country from 1942 to 1946 in the US Army during WWII. He was proud of his country. He owned and operated Montavilla Lumber from 1946-1996.
Ever active Wayne was a member of Friendship Lodge #160 AF&AM which he joined in 1979. He joined the Scottish Rite in 1981 and was a life member of Al Kader Shrine, joining in 1983. He was a Past Watchman of Shepherds for White Shrine of Jerusalem Oregon #1 and Supreme Worthy Guard. He was a life member and Past Royal Patron of Christina Court Order of the Amaranth. He served as Supreme Warder, International Order of the Amaranth. As a Portland Royal Rosarian, he marched in 16 Rose Festival Parades and numerous out of town parades. Wayne joined Northeast Shrine Club in 1983 and he was also the Elected Republican Precinct Committeeman that same year. He joined Friendship Rose Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in 1991and was dual member with Southgate Kellogg Eastern Star. He served as State Rainbow Dad in 2001-2002 and was the recipient of the Grand Cross of Color for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls.
Wayne and Cathy loved to travel and went on many trips and cruises. Wayne loved his cookies and was known to many as the Cookie Monster, which was the theme of his 90th Birthday. He loved life and lived it to the fullest and will forever be sweet in our memories.
Wayne is survived by loving wife, Cathy; son, John from Missouri, his sister, Virginia Settle of Bend, Oregon, and niece, Anne Settle and cousin Jean Hobart from Washington.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 22nd at 2 pm at the Al Kader Shrine Center 25100 SW Parkway Ave. Wilsonville, Oregon.
