Not sure what to say?

I just found out about Dr. Funk's passing. I saw him for anxiety and depression years ago. He was one of the most kind and compassionate doctors I have ever seen. He was also a good Christian man. RIP Dr. Funk.

I was a patient of Dr funk and I never met a genuine and caring person like him before. He always was the kind of person to help his patients and always was there for me and truely listened to what I had to say. I was going to call him today but found out he past away which mad me very sad to hear. Thank you for everything you done for me, I will never forget how such a great psychiatrist you were and specially an honorable person.May you rest in peace Dr.Funk, Yours truly -Ali Shafihie

When I moved to El Cajon from Pennsylvania to become the organist/choir director at First Methodist in 1983, Wayne and Mary reached out to me and became like second parents, letting me stay with them until I found an apartment, letting me drive their old station wagon until I got my own car, feeding me many meals, and giving me advice and support. I will never forget their love and kindness toward me. I offer Mary and the whole family my heartfelt sympathy.

I have wonderful memories of Wayne & Mary and they were a great part of our life.

The Funk family was a huge part of my childhood. Wayne will be remembered as a man with a loving heart. My condolence to the whole family. Funny thing I was on Harden Dr. Last week checking in on my mom Mary Greenhalgh and stopped to remember all the good times at your old house. My love and prayers to all.

I'm saddened by the news of Dr. Funk's passing. I'm very appreciative of all the help I received from his compassion and vast experience. He lived what he taught.

My sympathies for the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, uncle. I was fond of Wayne as he treated me like family. I remember well the big Funk Christmas celebrated in CA at he and Mary Joyce's house in 1986 in which my mother and I were included.

Wayne was a great friend of my grandma, Lena Shieler's, and a wonderful man whom I have known my whole life. I remember him as a sweet, funny, caring, gentle man. My husband and I were just talking about how the Funk's were the longest standing married couple at our wedding in 2007!
I wish strength for Mary and family during this time. May god bless his soul!
