Wayne's friendly, easy going manner, is a loss to everybody
that knew him. Our condolences to Judy and Family.

Dad (Papa),

When recently I looked at the life that we had, I felt so fortunate for the love our families shared. I felt lucky to know that our parents and children were healthy, life was good.

Then suddenly we were thrown a curve, and you were taken from us. There are so many things I wish I would have said to you, things that I thought about a lot, but I just felt you knew. I wanted to tell you how much of a father you were to me, you just knew me so well. I loved...

Proud to Call You Dad

My Dad, Wayne George Hankey passed away suddenly one year ago today on May 26, 2009 from a heart attack. “A heart of gold” stopped beating, as he was the most wonderful husband, Dad, and Papa a family could ever have. We were truly blessed to have such a good person in our life. Dad was genuine, sincere, virtuous, and led a life of substance. He never said an unkind word about anyone and treated each person he met with dignity and respect. Dad had the...

I only just heard about this and am so sorry for all of you. I had so many good memories of Mr. Hankey growing up. I have so many random memories.....his black zippered gum boots flipped open, putting up Christmas lights on the house, the old Mercury Cougar, etc. He was the nicest man and I certainly will not forget him. My thoughts are with you all.

Judy, I only heard today about Wayne's passing. The lovely tribute by your son for Fathers Day. It always seemed like you guys were following me around, since 352 Hospital St in 1966!!!. I have your phone number and will call you and take you for coffee, I have no words of wisdom for you because there are none. Take care of yourself and your Mom.

Dear Judy and Family,
We were shocked and sadden to hear of Wayne's passing. He was a friend of our family for almost 50 years. He will greatly missed by all of us, but mainly by Mother Stewart who looked forward to your and Wayne's visits. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Judy & family; Fay and I are presently visiting our daughter and family in Ottawa where we received word from home of Wayne's passing. We extend our deepest sympathies and can hardly believe Wayne has left us. He looked so healthy when we saw you guys in McDonald's a couple of weeks ago! We always had lots of laughs swapping stories about our days in the "Royal Red." We are going on to visit our son in Burlington and will call you when we're back to the coast. Our thoughts are with...
