Wayne D. Jones, 86, of East Bangor, PA passed away Thursday, April 21st, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg, PA.


Wayne was born in Pen Argyl, PA on August 3, 1935, a son of the late William H. and Bessie (Amy) Jones.


Wayne celebrated 58 years of marriage with his wife Phyllis M. (Hess) Jones. He was a 1954 graduate of Bangor High School. Wayne was employed as a milkman for Rosenberger Dairy until retiring. Prior to that Wayne also worked for the former Slate Belt Dairy and Stocker Brothers Dairy. After retiring he worked at Smith Wilbert Vault Company in Bangor, PA.


Wayne was a lifetime member of the East Bangor Fire Company and served as the Secretary and Treasurer of the East Bangor Municipal Authority for 44 years. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.


He was a member of the First United Evangelical Congregational Church in Bangor, PA.


In addition to his loving wife Phyllis, Wayne is survived by two daughters, Denise Miller, wife of Todd and Debi Kotretsos, and companion Scott LeVan, a son, Eric W. Jones, 5 grandchildren Crystal Reaser, wife of Matt, Caryn Gershman, wife of Scott, Marc Miller, Eleni Kotretsos, and Nik Kotretsos, husband of Kristina, and two great-grandchildren Austin Reaser and Elly Kotretsos.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 26th at 11 AM at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, "Village of Johnsonville" Bangor, PA. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, April 25th at the funeral home. Burial will be held at East Bangor Cemetery in East Bangor, PA. Having worked part time as a milk man with my Uncles (LV Dairy). Got to know Wayne . There wasn't a kinder friendly individual. My deepest condolences to his family. You will be missed by all. Prayers for his family and friends.
