Send FlowersMr. Wayne Oglesby, 57, passed away Monday, August 13, 2007, at his residence.
A native of Ware County, he had lived in Pierce County for most of his life. Mr. Oglesby was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam conflict. While in the army, he served with the Military Police. He had worked for Mack TV for 27 years and loved college football and car racing. He was a member of the American Legion in Blackshear and was a son of the late George Washington “Tiny” & Peggy King Oglesby. Mr. Oglesby was also preceded in death by his wife, Alene Elrod Oglesby, and a son, little Wayne Oglesby.
Survivors are two daughters and sons-n-law, Glenna & Tommy Pearson of Waycross and Missy & Wade Oglesby of Blackshear; a son and daughter-n-law, Corey & Jennifer Turner of Blackshear; 6 sisters and brothers-n-law, Mary & Stanley Shuman of Hoboken, Bobbie Sue & Lloyd Johnson of Washington, GA, Elaine & Sam Eason of Folkston, Martha & Jerry Broyles of Athens, Dale & Chris Sikes of Waynesville and Peggy & Timmy King of Blackshear; four brothers and sisters-n-law, Buddy & Joann Oglesby and Donnie & Angela Oglesby all of St. Marys, David & Donna Rae Oglesby of Waycross and Fred & Lisa Oglesby of Blackshear; a grandson, Drew Roberson; two granddaughters, Payton Oglesby and Laylin Oglesby and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Oglesby will be held Thursday morning, August 16, 2007, at 10:00 from the Pearson-Treadwell Chapel.
Interment will be in the Waters Cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. Oglesby will be held Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.
Memorialization will be by cremation.

Uncle Wayne will be missed by all. He was one of a kind with a heart of gold. The world was a much better place with him in it. He always had so much to offer and yet never ask for anything in return. That's what families are all about.
