To the Prescott Family,
I am sorry for your loss and its with a heavy heart that I type this. I had personally never met Wayne but we have chatted a few times by telephone as I am building a replica of the truck that he once built and served on in Vietnam. I was hoping to meet him as he talked about returning to Vermont where he lived after returning home and wanting to see my project. I will continue working on it knowing that he is watching with his fellow 359 members who passed before him. If any of his family ever get up this way, please feel free to contact me and I will show you what I am doing to help keep the memory of what he did in Vietnam alive.
RIP Wayne.

I spoke with Wayne just a few days before his passing. We shared our memories of days long past. I will always remember Wayne as a young boy ready for any adventurer. He would always end our phone conversations with,"I love you uncle". God Bless you, Wayne.

Uncle Wayne had restless legs, he was always on the move and in the action. Larger than life, he did things BIG. A true hero. He encouraged me to go west and view the world most just fly over. He taught me nothing was too far away, that everything is within reach, and there is always a bigger fish to catch. I will always remember the fishing trips we took with my brother Shawn and cousin Ben. His stays at my mother and father's house. January boat trips on lake Mead, AZ. The years Wayne, Maria, Adan, and Juan shared with me in Arizona. I love you and will never forget you. Rest peacefully Uncle.

I had the privilege of reading the citation that Wayne received with his Silver Star (the third highest honor received in the armed forces) It told of a large convoy of trucks passing through a mountain pass when they were attacked by the enemy from both sides. The lead truck was hit and burst into flames blocking the passage of any other truck. Wayne left his truck and jumped into the truck behind the flaming truck and pushed it off the road so the other trucks could pass. I imagine Wayne saved many lives that day. Very proud to be his sister and will miss him very much.

My Uncle Wayne was a great man. His legacy with me started as a child from stories my Dad would tell me about his big brother. A true war hero and a big brother who taught his little brother every thing he could. A few of my best memories of him were going fishing off Block Island with him and my cousin Billy, visiting him at his camp ground in Exeter, RI, and him coming to see us after my Dad passed. He was a real rock through that ordeal. Provided me and my family much comfort and support and for that, Uncle Wayne, I will always be more than grateful. I will miss talking to you on the phone and learning lifes little tricks from you. Say hi to Dad for me. I love you and may you rest in peace. Ben
