Not sure what to say?

Almost to the week, I am reminded of our annual trips together, to D.C., NYC, and basically, East. What fun and totally enjoyable. He always made it so.

TO THE TOWNSEND FAMILY: IT IS GOOD TO REMEMBER THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED BEFORE US. IT IS PART OF THEIR LEGACY. I RECALL AN EXPRESSED COMMENT BY GREGORY PECK DURING AN INTERVIEW YEARS AFTER, "TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD", ON HOW HE WOULD WANT TO BE REMEMBERED. HE RECALLED AN EXPRESSION BY AN UNKNOWN AUTHOR THAT READ, "THERE IS SOMETHING WITHIN THAT MAN THAT IS THE BEST IN EACH OF US". THAT TRIBUTE IS FITTING TO MY FRIEND, WAYNE TOWNSEND.

May our God of all comfort and peace be with your family during this time of sadness.

I never had the privilege of meeting Mr. Townsend but he was a friend of my parents, Mayor Harold and Mary Lou Miller. They treasured their friendship very much. My deepest condolences to the family. ..you have lost a truly great man. Treasure your memories and he will never be far from your hearts.

It was always a joy to be in the Townsend home and with the family. Love, joy, music, and hard work ethics were always present. Sending love and hugs to Helen, Lisa, Mark, Alan, Steve, and all the rest of the family. His legacy was kindness, goodwill, and service to others.

My condolences to the family of Wayne Townsend...I met him several times through the Purdue Alumni Association (I am a Life Member). His contributions to Purdue University were many and varied.

You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him. Malcolm Forbes
Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity and dignity. Titus 2:7
These quotes remind me of you Mr. Townsend. Serving others is a priority that you model. Thank you for your daughter- Lisa. She is my dear friend who I aspire to be like - not in envy but in awe. Your legacy actively lives through your children and...

You don't get to pick your in laws but I was so fortunate to have Wayne as my father in law for almost 24 years. He always put family first and had a wonderful sense of humor. I enjoyed seeing his passion for farming, politics and the close company of friends. His life is a tribute to living a full happy one. He will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. May God hold you ever so close during this time of sorrow.
Blessings to you and yours,
Kathi Hahn
