Wayne Willis

Montgomery, AL - Charles Wayne Willis, age 77, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Tuesday September 25, 2018. Charles was born June 21, 1941 in Alabama. Wayne is survived by his wife, Mary "Marie" C. Willis ; brother Bruce E. Gardner and sister-in-law Susan Gardner; nephew Jason Gardner, niece-in-law Christy Gardner, niece Natalie Griffin and nephew-in-law Steve Griffin as well as his great nieces and nephews: Courtney and Christian Gardner, Shelby and Lexi Griffin. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde C. Willis and Ruth Allen Lewis. After his tour with the Navy, Wayne worked as an engineer assistant 3 with the highway department here in the state of Alabama. He was passionate about Alabama football. Life paused when the game started and many Saturday afternoons, Marie was banished to another room while the game was on television. A visitation for Wayne will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
