We miss you.

"Mr.Ump"!You had a profound and lasting influence in my personal development as a young Black Man. I remember the times you took me to jazz sessions in Dallas and Fort Worth and left me in awe when you sat in and played in the rhythm section. Coolest teacher at IMT, icon in the Hood and highly esteemed by all of your students...R.I.P. Mr. Armstrong...Moe

Mr."Ump" The smoothest of all the teachers at IMT...Coolest guy on the planet. He took me to jazz sessions all over Dallas and Fort Worth...and sat in with his Upright Bass...just one of his musical talents. Mr. Armstrong, an unparalleled legend. Mr. Armstrong you were a profound and lasting influence in my development as a young man. My heart goes out his Family for such a loss...R.I.P."UMP"...Moe

Mr. Armstrong was my biology teacher at Wm. James Middle. He was a very up-front teacher about his biology class and also about life. Family, may God bless and keep you during this time of sorrow.

Dexter and family, just want you to know that he was one of my favorite teachers at IMT and he never hesitated to call when he had a question he thought I could answer. Please know that there are many who are saddened and share your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I'm still a phone call away. Love you all!

We would like to send our condolences to the family.
Much Love, Michael, Gwen, and Charlean Sadler

Sorry for your lost stay strong god will bring you thru.
