Read MoreI worked with Web in the Clark County News Bureau at the Oregonian in the early 1980s. My first job out of college, Web taught me a great deal. I'll never forget his stories working in Army Intelligence near the Berlin Wall. He and Lev Richards helped me get my feet under me. Good man.

My sincere condolences to Web's wife and family. I was the first to welcome Web to the Portland Pigs' Rugby Club and always considered him a friend. My memories of him will never fade. He was definitely one in a million!
