 I Am Not There

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on the snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I...

Not sure what to say?

Wendell I just found out about your passing and as I am writing this my wife and I are struggling through tears to learn of your passing. I met you 30 years ago at Caesars when I was sooo green. I spent many nights at the tables with you and our friendship continued all that time. We'd call each other and spend many wonderful conversations about the old Vegas days and your climbing. Wow, what a great life of adventure you had. I could listen to your stories and we'd laugh together about the...

Wendell, you are one of my besets friends ever and I love and miss you every day. I am so honored to be the last person who you taught to climb. My first indoor, my first outdoor sport (Tonto), my first multi pitch (Man's Best Friend) and my first epic Wendell rout Mushroom people!!!!!n You said I looked like a cat on a shower curtain but I cleaned it on site. I miss you so much! You are an icon and forever in my heart.

He was a great friend to me. Always had that wonderful smile. He loved his Solitary card game, he wanted a pack of cards if he was stranded on an island cause he knew people would show up to help him play. Love and miss you my friend.

Wendell treated me like family since the day I met him. His huge grin and 'Hey Baby' will forever be etched in my memory. Wendell's capacity to smile his way through every casino shift was amazing. His razor sharp memory of every single pitch he ever climbed impressed me, even in his last days. Even more endearing were the countless stories of adventures shared with his wife and boys.

You were my friend for 30 years. You taught me how to climb and that changed my life. You were the most generous person I have ever known with both your time and money. I will miss you every day.

You were my friend for 30 years. We had great times and great trips. It's difficult to imagine my life without you. Wendell you were bigger than life and you have left a hole in many hearts that will never be filled.

Wendell was a treasure. I'll miss him. I consider myself fortunate to have spent time in his presence.

We are all a bit better for having Wendell as a friend. Rest in eternal peace .

A true legend in our community, Wendell always greeted me with a smile and a story of something out of an adventure novel. He will be missed by us all. RIP.

You will always be larger than life itself my friend !
