Wendy Griffin

Sending love to Scott, Sterling, Whitney, and Ashley (my former CWA friends and classmates) during this difficult time. I have such fond memories of your mom; her warmth, beauty, and intelligence always shined through - though never as much as her love for her family. What a beautiful legacy she leaves. XO

My thoughts are with you in these sad times. My memories of Wendy are etched with her grace. Wendy and Jim and Charlie Spaeth went to Europe with my parents and me in 1966 right before I was married. There, Wendy took me under her wing, mentoring me, and giving me excellent advice which has stood me in good stead ever since. Everyday I see her likeness in a Gino Hollander painting as I walk past it in our hall, and I remember her fondly.

Tacoma has lost a leader and an indomitable spirit. Paired with her husband Jim, she accomplished amazing things. We had the privilege of working with her on the Tacoma Art Museum campaign and to witness her determination, intelligence and sense of humor. She lived an extraordinary life and helped make Tacoma a better place. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren passionately, along with her corgis.
