Wendy Kay Pickard, age 63, of Kent, IL passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL. She was born on January 20, 1957 in Houston, TX. Wendy married her soulmate, Gary Pickard on September 17, 1977.


She was a 1975 graduate of Pearl City High School. Wendy had worked as a beautician in her home for 15 years and went on to Nursing School and had worked as a CRNA for over 20 years. She was recently the recipient of the Bee Award through FHN. Wendy was a very devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She could always light up a room with her contagious smile and laugh. Wendy was a selfless person who always put others first and will be dearly missed by so many. You could always find her spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed attending Hockey games with her family and going on cruises with her husband.


She is survived by her husband, Gary; her daughter, Renee Pickard; her son, Ryan (Jennifer) Pickard; her grandchildren, Nakiya, Isaac, and Eli; her daughter-in-law, Christine Sloane; her niece, Alexandria McIntosh; her foreign exchange student who she loved like a daughter, Mio Yarimizu; her special friends, Chris Williams, Lori Robieson and countless others. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dena; her granddaughter, Olivia; and her friend, Brian Williams.


The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Zion Community Church in Pearl City at 1:00 p.m. There will be a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery in Pearl City. You went away far too soon. I'm so sad that you had to leave too soon. You always treated me like your own granddaughter and just know you'll never be forgotten. I know that you're up in heaven, having a good time and of course making sure everyone was fed till they bursted as you always did❤

My thoughts & prayers go out to you Gary, family & so many friends, that are grieving the loss of such a beautiful lady. I am so thankful to Facebook, and the chance to reconnect. I only wish, that we had met for lunch, but we always think there will be more time~.

I will always cherish the memories of growing up together down at Kent.The Wingerts were like my 2nd family.I spent many weekends overnight.Man we had a blast.Gary I Pray for you as well as your family knowing that Wendy is flying high with the Angels God Bless you All
