Not sure what to say?

Wendy's son, Benji, was a Boy Scout (Eagle), and one spring, Wendy and Ann Hansen came up to camp for a work weekend. Mud and snow everywhere, and Wendy and Ann had these oversize mud boots. When Wendy got out of the boat, she tripped on those boots, and went face first into the lake. Most of the rest of the week end was downhill for there. But they both had a great attitude and were very helpful.

We miss you! 8 years is a long time ago. Our best to Gene and the family. Lee and Junie Webb

We miss you and all of your energy! We still have a picture of you, Junie, Holly Lazzerini, and three other friends on display in our home. We think of you often. Junie and Lee Webb

Yes, how lucky Anderson Cooper was to meet Wendy in New Orleans!

Gene, Benji, Larkin, and family,
Gosh, I feel like I know you, though we've never met. Wendy, my "Buddy", and I met when we were headed down to N'Awlins in 2005 (for post-Katrina volunteer work with the Peace Corps's Crisis Corps). I also was in the Peace Corps in Kenya, though a totally different era (93-96), but we immediately clicked in Orlando and New Orleans. I am stunned to think that is has been almost 7 years since we were together there, since I last saw her. I am saddened...

Wendy Wayne touched my life in a moving speech at a ACS event several years ago. She was an inspiration in her words and life story. From that moment I knew she was different and a special person. She was a person who gave to others before thinking of herself. She was grounded and a wonderful role model. I will forever be grateful to have known her and experience her kind words and smile. Thank you Wendy for sharing your life with me.

LOVE AND PRAYER TO YOU AND FAMILY. MAY GOD COMFORT YOU AT THIS TIME.JOYCE HOOD AND FAMILY

When I learned of Wendy's death my heart sank and I cried lonely tears.
The world has lost a Champion Warrior and the Universe has lost a shining star.
How precious to me the brief time I spent with Wendy volunteering together, and how wonderful that I was privileged to share with her the important difference she made in my own life and the lives of my 5 sons!

I will miss the celebration this weekend as I will be 'on US Navy duty' - such is the nature of Service to...

I met Wendy through my parents Ron and Kitty Woods when I was younger and I also got to know what a sweet and caring person she was. My thoughts and prayers are with you Gene and Boys and family. Sincerely Janet(Woods)Dye

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
