In 1964, I graduated from Scottsbluff high School. For my graduation, my father, Dr. W.O. Brown, gave me the Dale Carnegie Course. It was while taking this course that I met Werner and have vividly remembered him ever since. He once gave a demonstration in the course of how German paratroopers did push ups and applauded for themselves at the same time. (Do a pushup and clap your hands) Werner was a very muscular man and he snapped off about 20 of those in no time flat. It was at that...

I will never forget Werner's advice to take one day at a time and to do my best always as I went off into the Navy. He was inspiring man. I am grateful to have known him.
