Not sure what to say?

Dear Tammy and Family, My condolences on the passing of your father who sounds like an amazing man. He had a wonderfully long life with your equally amazing mother. I would love to connect with you. RIP. Wendy Lampert Hubert 248-909-8324

My sympathy to the Veit children and grandchildren. My husband Len and I spent many hours with Werner working on the North Country Trail. Also, we were privileged to share a special friendship with Werner and Marianne. They were wonderful people.

Veit family, I have had the privilege of taking care of Overset for many years. Werner and Marianne always had time for a chat and we´re always interested in my family and the goings on in my life. I will always remember Werner´s smile, happy attitude towards life, and his love of the big lake. I am so very sorry for this great loss.

How do you express your deepest sympathy in just a few words for such a great man as Werner Veit? He took me in when I was at my most vulnerable. I needed a job and wanted to make a living in art. He started me out with a cub reporter's pay. My first job assignment was the PBB trials that took place in Cadillac. I was unsure of my drawing skills and was uneasy turning them in that night. The next day when I went into his office, there they were, plastered all over his office walls. Werner...

Werner Veit hired me for my first newspaper job straight out of Indiana University. I picture him with a thoughtful expression, wearing a suit and puffing on a pipe. He was a very kind and fair individual. I do hope he rests in peace although I´m sure he has plenty of questions.

Werner boldly named me "Women´s Editor" in 1970. I was one of only two or three men in the country to hold that position. It was one of the best jobs I had in newspapers. He let me do pretty much anything I wanted to do. It was a growing time.

It was a pleasure knowing your father. May he Rest In Peace. Kathy and Russ

Werner was my first editor-publisher in my newspaper career and was extraordinarily encouraging to me. It was always a delight to talk with him.

To Marianne and Werner´s three children, I was blessed to know your Mom and Dad for many years and to share the gift of each of you. Werner was so good to me and let my career grow and flower. May you be comforted by your memories of his life. Vicki
