I remember him from his early years. I was a litte boy when the Milwaukee Braves visited Connie Mack Stadium. I couldn't believe it when the Philadelphia Phillies brought him into their club. He was a powerhouse for the Phillies (my team). My brother in law were discussing him yesterday. I live in Charlotte. We both remember his huge home runs over the right field wall. I wish he were alive so I could send him a note of thanks. I remember he went into the bar-b-q business after baseball. I...

Wes would come in to the head office of Albert's Restaurants and it was always a joy to see him. I always wanted to hug him everytime he came in. He would always have a smile and kind words to say to me. He will be missed and i was so sad to hear that he has passed. God bless his family during this sad time.
