This summer I was so happy to receive a visit from Alex's dad, Scott MacCready. Though I never got to meet Alex, Scott told me lots of great stories and showed me pictures and mementos about his son. I felt privileged to get to know him a little bit, posthumously, in this way.

I never got to meet Alex, but I probably knew enough about him to say we could have been acquaintances. He meant the world to Sophie, and as Sophie was a great deal of my world, Alex will forever be in my heart. I met Sophie the day after Alex passed, and I could never forget the stories her eyes told.
