Wilda Martinez, what can I say about such an amazing woman? I only knew her briefly compared to most of her ARS family, but she always made me feel welcomed and appreciated. She was the Area Director for the NAA when I was hired and retired less than a year later, and yet she impacted my life more than she knew. I had the pleasure to know Wilda when I worked at the research laboratory in Kearneysville, West Virginia, and she was our Area Director. Chatting with her always made me smile; we shared some family stories and she always remembered to ask about my children. She set a great example for women in science, and I'm proud to say I knew her. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
