Wilfred “Wolf” "Uncle Wilfred" Grant, Sr. Wilfred “Wolf” "Uncle Wilfred" Grant, Sr., age 66 was born on May 22, 1956, departed this life on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Wilfred was educated in the Orleans Public School System. After graduating from Walter L. Cohn, he became a longshoreman on the Riverfront. Wolf was also a diehard Saints fan. He leaves loving memories to be cherished by Wilfred, Jr., Sheba, Jermonica, Phylicia and Trianna; His stepchildren James and Sade; and fifteen grandchildren. His siblings Brenda Hayes, Whalen Grant (Julie), Glenda Flowers (Tommy), Linda Blackburn (David), Winda Harness (Ronald), Welton Grant (Brigette), Wellington Grant (Audrey), Wardell Grant and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Wolf” is preceded in death by his parents, Whalen Grant, Sr. and Nettie Mae Grant, niece Kozara Grant, brother-in-law.
Wayne Hayes, Sr. and great niece Taylor McMillan. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home, 2120 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70113 at 12:30 p.m. Visitation from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm. Wilfred was my next door neighbor as a teenager and into my 20's (on Valence Street) for a number of year growing up. He always treat me with kindness and respect even when there were things going on in his life that were challenging. He (and the rest of siblings) felt like family because of close relationship we shared. Rest in peace my brother. You will always be remembered.
