Not sure what to say?

MG Menard his wife Betty were family friends for many years. I also served under him on several assignments, lastly at the HQ Selective Service System State of NJ. He personally thanked me for my professional service as the Deputy State Director while we were in the company of my father and my wife. He served as my father's Deputy and subsequently as The Chief of Staff. I'll always remember him as the consumate soldier. NJ has lost an outstanding leader. RIP Gen "Bud". James F....

I first met General Menard and his wife Betty almost 50 years ago while serving as their Trenton Times delivery boy in Ewing Twp. They were both kind folks and I enjoyed our conversations on collection days.

Ironically, following college, my first position in State Government was with the Department of Defense where General Menard soon became Chief of Staff. Our association continued both professionally and socially as I have many fond memories from our times together in...

Bill & I were very pleased to have had the opportunity to meet and befriend Betty and Bud while residing at The Villages at Hamilton community. They were both a very special couple and will be missed. RIP Bud and say "hi" to Betty for me!

I came upon the news of Bud's passing quite accidentally, and I was, of course,so sorry to learn that Bud is gone. Among the many people who have written about their association with General Menard, I can only add a few words about a social relationship. My first, and late, husband, Art Holland and I knew Betty and Bud through Joe and Dot Holland, their very good friends. The Menards were warm, friendly and good-hearted people. Great to be with. Years later, I met them again at the 112th...

My wife, Rosemarie and I would like to extent our deepest sympathy to Betty and General Menard's family . I had the extreme pleasure to have been the second member of my family to have served with General Menard in the New Jersey National Guard. My father served with the General from 1946 to his retirement . My father was with him when they were placed on active duty in 1961. I had the honor to receive my commission to Second Lieutenant from General Menard when I graduated from OCS class 18....

MG Menard, was a professional soldier in every sense of the word. He was a mentor, a coach and a teacher of hundreds of officers and enlisted men and women. He took the time to know who you were and what you were about and did not trust others when it came to an individuals well being or career. I had several professional dealings with him as an enlisted man and later as an officer. He did not forget your name, your unit or the circumstances of crossing paths. He and his wife Betty were...

My deepest sympathies to the family. 'The General's General' will be truly missed and always fondly remembered.

I would like to extend my deepest sympahty to the family of MG Menard. He was a poised leader, a true gentleman and a man of honor. He was a great supporter of the National Guard Militia Museum efforts and his guidance will be missed. He is now at peace and may God rest his soul.
