Not sure what to say?

I think about mia every day! she was my ,,Dutch American sister,,and best friend!I miss her so much!!

mia was my best friend and I miss her every day!we met in Tuscaloosa in 1967.i was born in the Netherlands also

I really love you mrs beautiful lady Mia no, you are on the beautiful place

I remember growing up and spending the night with the Cathers, trick or treating in their neighborhood and celebrating the 5th of December Sinterklaas with the Cather family. I am profoundly sad for the loss of Mia but profoundly grateful for meeting her and becoming friends with the whole family. I hate I cannot be there in person at the funeral but I send my love , thoughts, and prayers.

I remember Mia fondly from when we lived close by, on Essex. She was always friendly, and I still think of her when seeing the garden as I drive past. It's always a blessing to others, as was her life! Jean Oliver

Bill and all the family, both American and Dutch, It was a privilege to know Mia, a truly beautiful lady inside and out. She was my Kappa Delta sister for a year at the University of Alabama, thanks to the Ehlerts. Being with her was always fun and we tried to keep in touch over these many years. My parents and I were so happy when we got to meet Mia's whole family while we were in the Netherlands in 1967. I wish we had not lived so far apart. We are so glad we had a recent visit with Mia,...

I am so very sorry to learn of Mia´s passing. She was a neighbor when I lived on Cliff Road and we worked together in Early Arts program and the Garden Club. Though we lost contact over the years she wasn´t forgotten.

mia was my best friend.she called me her ,,american dutch sister,,i loved her very much and i will miss her forever!

Such a lovely woman. I feel so very lucky that my daughter was fortunate enough to be one of her flock at Early Arts in the Crestline Days. We have often talked of the kid's visits to her magical Essex Road garden. There are countless adults walking the earth who were shaped early on by Miss Mia's calm acceptance and kindness. At 3 my daughter said: "Miss Mia always makes even the boys feel nice and happy" . High praise indeed. As a single parent of a toddler, she even made me feel that way....
