Abrahamson, Willard "Willie" Born April 11, 1922. Youngest child of Jacob and Randi Abrahamson who were both descendants of Norwegian immigrants. Grew up on a farm near Hawley, MN. Preceded in death by brothers, Albert, Selmer, Henry, Oscar and Oliver; sisters, Gurine, Alice, Julia, Helen and Ragnold. Joined the Navy during WWII and served in the Medical Corps. Honorable discharge in 1946. Graduated from Dunwoody Institute in 1949. Worked as a farmhand, auto mechanic, butter maker, assembly mechanic, R.R. passenger car cleaner, radio mechanic and locomotive diesel electrician, before taking a job with the US Postal Service in 1955. Retired after 25 years of service in 1980. Married to Neva Kronbeck in 1947 and divorced in 1971. Survived by daughter, Randi & her daughter Brianna, and son, Gene. Lived in Coon Rapids with wife and children from 1956 to 1971. Owned a condominium at The Towers in Mpls from 1971 until his death. Died 1/17/07 at Mercy Hospital after suffing a heart attack. Will be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
