Willard Johnson

I taught with Bill for many years at Northampton High School and he was a good friend to my wife Betsy and me over the years. Whether it was talking with him at NHS or spending time with him socially his thoughtfulness, his humor and his special interests in antiques are remembrances of our time together. He will be missed. May he Rest In Peace. Betsy and John Bresnehan

Bill was a truly kind man. He enjoyed people and recognized their strengths and weaknesses and loved them for both. He was a quiet force of joy in so many lives. He was blessed with a happy smile and a warm sense of humor that he readily shared. We miss him very much.

Mr. Johnson was awesome! Not only as an accounting teacher, as a freind. He was one of the teachers that came to my dad's wake when I was a student of his at Hamp High which meant so much to me. I cleaned up his leaves for him when I was doing Landscaping and later on in life would run into him at the grocery store and have LONG conversations. He always loved his homes and took such pride in them. What a super nice man who really made a difference in people's lives.

Bill was one of the kindest, fairest, and most decent people that I've ever known. He was loved by everyone who knew him and I will miss him very much.

I've known Bill through my parents my entire life. He spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with our family for many years and we have a lot of happy memories. He was a wonderful man. He was sharp, funny, and full of great stories that I'll never forget. I will miss him very much.

I thought I was meeting Bill for the first time when I joined Historic Deerfield staff in 2002. Bill quickly reminded me that he prepared my taxes when he worked for H & R Block many years ago. We continued from that point being old friends. And as aging friends do, we helped each other with doctor appointments, house and cat checks, etc. All the while Bill was an inspiration with his life full of stories and knowledge. Thank you for being a friend. Missing you already.

so sorry to hear about bill's passing. he was my math teacher at hamp high in 1970, the best teacher I ever had! We became good friends later on and always had a smile and a good word of encouragement. thank you for your service to the country and may you rest in peace my friend.
