On behalf of the membership of the Bellevue Track and Field Officials Association, of which Gene was a long-time and valued member, I'd like to express our sincerest condolences to Gene's family. I know there are no words that can ease your pain; however, I wanted to share that my mother often told me that you and Gene had a wonderful marriage that produced a remarkable son. May all your wonderful memories of Gene comfort you during this heartbreaking time. She was so fond of the both of you and looked forward to the time she spent with you too.

One of the last members of a generation that helped lay the foundation for Bellevue's renowned sports legacy. Although they were just "coaching" us, they were actually instilling in us the confidence to face life's challenges. Mr. Milkie will be surely missed.
