Barbara Reck Douglas and I (Carol Lawson Spillers) spent last weekend together and we got out some old modeling pictures and clippings and talked about our time with Mr. Adrian. We were modeling from age 12 in 1955. So much fun then and also fun to reminisce about it now. Rest in peace William Adrian.

I too started out as an Adrian model in 1973. He found me in front of Pasadena City College, on my beloved Route 66 ! Mr. Adrian always made sure we were protected. He enjoyed taking us to his favorite restaurant in Hollywood, hoping that the talent scouts would discover us. We were perpetually in high heels and spent many sessions learning how to walk, do our makeup and dress correctly. His emphasis was on wholesomeness, classiness and beauty, inside and out. Hi Bill in heaven, Any 3$ movies we can go to there? I do miss joining the family holidays.

I called the Adrian Agency on a dare from my boyfriend - I´d recently gotten my braces off - and much to my surprise he took me under his wing. Never have I been so lucky in losing a bet! So many memories working with Bill in the 80´s.. and the Burger Continental lunches..! I will be forever grateful for his friendship and mentorship. He taught us the ropes (how to walk like a boss in heels!) and watched over us. Modeling can be a fraught place for teen girls but he always had our backs. I...

I miss my pal.

I had such a good time hanging out with Bill Adrian as one of his models. Margo Perez and I joined him at Sarno's Italian Restaurant and a Hollywood party as junior high school students at McKinley Jr High in 1968-69. I was sent to a photo shoot in L.A. by the Los Angeles Photography And Film Institute. I also did floor room modeling at a department store and ,get this... , a retirement home! He was a good friend! Until we meet again Mr. Adrian!

I was thinking of you today. I think of you so often. Meeting you changed my life. I was so blessed to be one of your girls. You were so much more than an agent. You loved us and treated us all like daughters. You taught us poise and so much more and always insisted we act like ladies. One of my favorite memories was dancing with you at your 64th birthday party. You always remained so young at heart. I will never forget you.
