Not sure what to say?

Bill was my mother's cousin, & Mark & I had grown up together hearing about how wonderful he was as he had served our nation & had become an attorney & lived with Dottie in Fairport Harbor as we lived in Warren, Ohio. My mom was Shirley Penn(ala) Pawcio, who had the good fortune to have been raised by her grandparents Alex & Hilda Penn(ala) in Warren from a very early age onward. I had maintained contact with Bill after I had retired from teaching & we had moved to Chattanooga. Bill,...

I´m so sorry that Cousin Bill has left us, but I am thankful for the times I visited the "Rocky River Ahonens" with my parents, especially in July 2018 when my dad Neal and I flew to Ohio for a visit a few months before dad died. I already miss Bill´s annual Christmas card letters and photos. God bless.

William D. was my senior cousin. We met from time to time after my high school days. We hadn´t been "family" until then. As he was 19 years my senior,I looked to him for advice over the years. We had the annual Christmas letters and I visited after he moved to Delaware.

My condolences go to Bill´s family. I am sorry for your loss. I was a young corporate banker at National City and had the privilege of working with Bill. He helped me make loans and collect loans! He was SO patient with me and, on every engagement, sat me down to go through how he thought through an issue and what was important and what wasn´t. Just a gem! I owe Bill such a debt of thanks and gratitude for what he meant to me as a person and as a bank employee. Whatever I was able...

BILLN AND I WORKEDTOGETHER AT THE CLEVLAND TRUST COMPANY. WE WERE GOOD FRIENDS. I REMEMBER SO MANYTHINGS ABOUT HIM BUT ON THAT STICKS IN MY MIND IS HIS TELLING ABOUT HS VISIT TO FINLAND FROM WHERE HIS ANCESTERS CAME. IN A RESTAURANT HE WANTED TO USE HIS FINNISH LANGUAGE AND ASKED ABOUT THE LOCATION OF THE MENS ROOM AND STIRRED QUITE A LAUGH BECAUSE HE WAS ASKING ABOUTHE OUTHOUSE. JIM ENGEL

Sorry for our family's loss Floyd and Janet (Ahonen) Copeland

Thank you for your very brave service to our country ! God bless you

Bill was a special cousin with a gift for telling you about something interesting he had read. Every autumn meant his Wolverine magazine would provide him with the information necessary to enjoy every play of the game. Bill called me before the Michigan vs Ohio State football game this year to raise our normal $2.00 bet to $5.00. His confidence was overflowing, and his team rewarded him with a victory over the rival Buckeyes. He left us with a smile on his face. Sending love to the...
