Not sure what to say?

Bill Appling made an important difference in my life as teacher and friend at Case Western Reserve University where he was director of the men's glee club. I will always remember him and always cherish the music he gave to us.

I offer my condolences and blessings for his family.

Dear Ms. Marazzi
I am so sadden to hear of your loss. I enjoyed the short time getting to know him when Scott and I traveled to spend time with the both of you in New York. My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I have NEVER forgotten you.
Laurie (Corrigan) Heintz

It is with profound sadness and fondest memories of Bill as a teacher, conductor and mentor that I mark his passing. My associations with him through SME, WRA and in WASO count among the best musical experiences of my life. We have lost a great and beloved pillar of our musical community. His work and his friendship are greatly missed. My warmest thoughts and prayers go out to Diane, Trudy and the rest of the family. God's grace to you.

Ron and I are truly saddened at the news of Mr. Appling's passing. He was a kind and very capable music teacher when we were at Glenville (Class of '56) and we reconnected with him in Columbus when he was coaching a talented Korean piano student whose parents were our friends.

I remember Mr. Appling so well. I was in the choir when he did his student teaching at Glenville with Mrs. Winifred Sheeler. We enjoyed him so much. We were sorry that he was unable to attend our 50th class reunion in 2006. He was missed.

I remember Bill from YMCA days when he was a counsellor at summer
camp,as well as during his time at Glenville. He was a remarkable mus
ician and leader. Bob Banks "55

Mr. William Appling was my Music Teacher when I was at Glenville High, Class of 1963. I feel honored that I had the opportunity to be one of his students. I always felt that he was a very good teacher. God rest his soul and God Bless his family.

Diane, I am saddened to learn of Bill's death and hold you and Trudy in my heart. What a great musician he was!!
I would welcome hearing from you after all these years.

Blessings, Ellen Hook Pietz
