Some called him Bill, friend, teammate, and a lucky few even called him dad. I on the other hand was in an elite group of eight that were fortunate enough to call him Grandpa, a rolled he played second to none. He was always there to talk to and the first to make a joke to make everyone laugh. He was always willing to play sports with the grand children, or take us out late for a burger. The Arden family was part of our family circle of friends while growing up.

I moved away a long time ago, but was lucky enough to have brief opportunities to see both Bill and Arlene at different times when I would visit.

The last time I saw Bill was when my mother passed away.

How lucky I was to have the chance to visit, hug him and tell him that I loved him. He was always kind to me and his passing leaves a lump in my throat.
