Dr. Athens delivered me, at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital, in 1959. I didn't realize just how young he was at that time- apparently only 35 years old! My mother was 43 when I was born, and scared to death that she was "too old", but she made it through fine with his help. He was my doctor for my entire childhood, (I didn't see an M.D. until I went into the Air Force at age 19.) hand carrying me into the operating room when I had my tonsils removed at age 4, hiding syringes behind his back...

We are so sad to hear of the passing of our friend Dr Bill. We will miss the many dinner conversations at the Old Club where we were so fortunate to meet Bill and his wife. Teri and I would like to extend our condolences to the entire family. He was a true gentleman who loved his wife and family. We will miss him and his wonderful smile!
