William Bakaleinikoff

I worked with Bill at the Petaluma Argus-Courier newspaper in the late 1970s. I just re-connected with another colleague from that era and we were hoping to have a reunion with Bill. I am very saddened to learn of Bill's passing 18 months later. He was a brilliant, creative, inspiring and humorous person and I will never forget him. I regret that I did not try to look him up and connect with him for a reunion before he passed. I am including a photo of Bill from 1977 in Petaluma.

Really wonderful obituary - I found out so much about a man I barely knew - what a rich life! He accomplished so much and gave so much back. For those of us who didn't really get to know him well, I was grateful to find out more about what an astonishing person Bill was! A true loss to his wife, family and all of us.

This is a beautiful tribute to your husband, Ellen. What an amazing man. I wish I'd known him! You have my deepest sympathy and ongoing love.

Bill was a very funny guy. He was never without a joke or humoris story. I knew him from our local dog park in Half Moon Bay. He came to the dog park with his big white German Shepard Kyaka. Many time Bill's wife Ellen would come, too. Everyone at the dog park will miss Bill, both dogs and people.
