I was so sorry to hear the news about Ed. I went to Luers and graduated with Ed in '68. I actually sat 2 seats behind him for four years. He was the consummate gentleman and a very solid person day in and day out. Although I have not lived in the Fort since college, I had always heard that Ed and his practice were doing very well. I'm sure his many contributions to life will be greatly missed by all. May he enjoy eternal life. Jerry Burgette

To the Baltes family. I did not know Ed but as a child growing up in Fort Wayne Ed's father Joseph took care of our family . We were very poor and did not have much money. But Joe took care of us anyway I will never forget that. He was a saint I compesated him as I grew older. It sounds like ed was a chip off the old block. I will keep your family in my prayers. Doctor Baltes was truly a physician. He had a heart for the people he took care of and did his very best by everyone he came in contact with.I express my deepest condolences to the family and know that they can take comfort and knowing that he was loved by many, may God bless and give you strength through this difficult time.

I am at a loss for words. I was blessed to have Ed as my friend. We were classmates at St John's and Luers. Psalm 23. The Lord is My Shepherd... My wife and I were able to have a nice conversation with Dr. Ed and his wife at our 40th Bishop Luers HS reunion. My prayers are with his family. Ed was a good man.
